The real reason to book in-home newborn photographs, by Melbourne and Geelong newborn photographer Michelle McKay.

My daughter's most requested story is what she calls The Story of Us.

We might be in the car on the way to kinder, or in the midst of tuck-ins after a drawn out day, and she'll ask to hear it - all about the time she was in my tummy, and then about the first days and months and years after she was born.

When I reflect it makes sense; these are the days around which she has no personal memory.

It's a tale that's all at once about the very essence and origins of her - one both imperative to her being, and the foundations of the truth I try to show her in so many ways - that from the moment I met her, she was loved.

Completely and entirely.

To me, this has got to be the truest reason newborn imagery is important.

These early photographs - these precious keepsakes and priceless archives are not only for you.

This is your little one's first chapter - their very first appearance in the beautiful ordinary story of your glorious lives together.

To think you could some day sit with one another to tell The Story of Us with authentic, artful imagery to help them picture it just exactly as it was...

Well.

Wouldn't that just be everything..?

This delightful newborn photography session was made in Hampton East, Melbourne.

Isn’t this little dot of a girlie beyond divine..?
