Even children get older. In-home newborn photography with Geelong photographer Michelle McKay.

When I strolled through the door into this morning's story session, I discovered a mama and her newly arrived little lady snuggling to the melodies of the eternally spectacular Stevie Nicks.

It struck me there could be no better soundtrack for early motherhood, that there could be no set of love songs more perfect for playing for yourself, or to your beautiful baby.

"Well, I've been afraid of changing
Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Children get older
And I'm getting older, too."

Welcome to this glorious new beginning, mama.

Welcome to motherhood. x

Enjoy this gorgeous in-home newborn story session, photographed in Point Lonsdale just outside Geelong on the Bellarine Peninsula by Michelle McKay Photographer.

Here’s another newborn gallery, and a piece that explores some of the reasons behind the importance of in-home photography.

If you’re wondering between posed newborn photographs or something more lifestyle and unscripted, this gallery and piece may make for good viewing.

Maternity photographs are also so important - here is a piece on why, as well as a gallery that tells the story of a baby bump to beautiful bundle.

And here is a newborn gallery with a sibling included for the fun and games.

If you’re in Geelong or Melbourne and you’re expecting a new baby, reach out to secure a date I can come document your little one’s arrival.
